Barbara Schmal is a Florida-licensed Real Estate Broker Associate and Real Estate Instructor with more than 35 years of industry experience. She began her real estate career in 1990, serving clients in Indiana and Illinois before relocating to Florida in 1998. Barbara specializes in residential, condominium, waterfront, luxury, investment, and vacation properties throughout the Tampa Bay area and Gulf Beaches.
As a licensed instructor, Barbara has taught Florida sales associate pre-licensing, post-licensing, broker, and continuing education courses. Her teaching experience includes working with Bob Hogue School of Real Estate and Tampa School of Real Estate, as well as operating her own real estate training school. She enjoys making complex topics understandable by connecting course material to real-world situations.
Barbara holds the GRI, ABR, SRS, RSPS, and PSA professional designations and certifications. She also holds a Florida Community Association Manager license and has extensive knowledge of condominium operations, budgets, reserve funding, inspections, Florida condominium laws, contracts, negotiations, and professional standards. Having worked through many different real estate markets, Barbara brings practical knowledge, patience, and a sense of humor to the classroom. She understands that students come from different backgrounds and may feel overwhelmed when beginning a new career. Her goal is to create a welcoming learning environment and give students the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed.
